We’re off to Nook Espresso at Burleigh! It’s an idyllic day, with sun glistening on the water, children playing on the sand, and people wandering up from a beach walk or swim. After an early stop for breakfast at the Burleigh Heads Farmers Markets, we’ve popped in for a coffee at Nook Espresso. It’s a tiny shoebox sized porthole just outside Pointbreak, serving a handful of food items (croissants, muesli, banana bread and a few other pre-baked goods), and takeaway coffee only.
It’s the coffee that people queue up for. My husband is a Bun coffee fan, coffee from Byron Bay which is ‘Rainforest Alliance Certified’. He loves the nutty sweet taste and the creamy smoothness of the crema. You can buy your beans from here as well.
At Nook there may be a crowd, but it’s worth the wait. The coffee’s superb, or you can have a chai latté if you prefer. Who needs to sit down when you can enjoy the view across the ocean, a light shimmer on the horizon reminding you just how far you are away from the Surfers Paradise high rise.
