This is one of the few Asian butchers on the coast, specialising in barbecue and roast meat and fresh pork and chicken. The front window of the shop houses the obligatory hanging racks and trays filled with barbeque duck, roast and barbeque pork, spare ribs and Chinese sausage.
Meat is cut daily from the whole carcasses which arrive at the shop, often with five or six butchers working side by side to provide meat cuts often unavailable elsewhere. You can buy long rib, whole lean pork leg or loin, pork belly, chicken giblets and hearts, pig’s ear, stomach, as well as the usual pork tenderloin or chicken breast fillets. In the freezer section are frozen lamb, ox, quail, brisket, every cut of duck as well as whole duck, and Peking duck pancakes to complete your own dish.
Unlike such outlets in Asia, thankfully this shop is air conditioned. All meat is barbequed on the premises, with a lot of the trade being wholesale orders.
